Phew, I think that has to be the longest post title I’ve ever written! The new Shades of Phoenix “In A World Of My Own Collection” is a collection of 7 polishes based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I’m breaking my swatches and review up into two posts, so today I’ll be showing you 4 of them. Curiouser & Curiouser is a light blue crelly with matte baby blue squares and micro glitter, and matte pale yellow glitter. This is so delicate and pretty, and reflects Alice’s sweetness perfectly. I used 3 coats with top coat. No Time To Say Hello, Goodbye is a white crelly base with a range of sizes and shapes of matte white glitters, and a scattering of holographic micro gold glitter. I’m not normally a huge fan of white or bar glitter, but I think it works well here. It’s similar to Alanna Renee Hedwig in concept, but the squares and holographic glitter make it noticeably different. The base flowed smoothly upon application, but I did need to fish for the glitter. This is 3 coats with top coat. Why Is A Raven Like A Writing Desk? is a jungle green jelly base filled with green, copper and holo turquoise glitter in a variety of shapes and sizes. It’s quite a Christmasy combination. I layered 2 coats over Essie Going Incognito. We’re All Mad Here is a purple jelly with yellow and light purple matte hexes, and dark purple tiny bar glitter. The base is quite sheer, which allows it to be layered over different shades to achieve a variety of looks. No fishing was required, but I did need to dab to get even glitter coverage. It also levels out evenly, as you can see in my swatches – the jelly base is much darker than the undies, but it doesn’t show any streaking or patchiness. This is 2 coats over Butter London Scoundrel, with top coat.
