Glam Polish is another Aussie indie brand that’s new to me. The very first of their polishes I tried was King of All the Candy in the August What’s In-die Box.Glam Polish’s trademark look is bright, cheerful colour combinations with loads of glitter, in eye-popping shades. The two I’m showing you today are from the new Fun & Games collection.
Based on the Reluctant Femme’s Beginner’s Guide to Indie Polish, I would classify the formula on both of these as being “Advanced”. I had to fish to get the larger glitters, but they all seemed to stick together and come out at once. This resulted in a lot of dabbing, wiping and nudging to get even glitter coverage. To add to this, the base was quite runny (which I tend to prefer over thick formulas), but it tended to pool in the cuticles during application. The end result looked great, but anyone who’s new to glitter polish application should take note.
On to the swatches!
Kerplunk is a purple crelly base with multi sized pink, yellow, blue and teal hex glitter. There’s a mix of both matte and satin glitter in there. This is 2 coats. It dried incredibly bumpy, but smoothed out with 2 coats of Seche Vite.
Leap Frog has a turquoise crelly base with neon green, yellow and pink hex glitters. Again, a nice mix of matte and satin glitters. Some of those bright green hexes are freaking huge! I love the base colour, and I think the pink contrasts really well against it.
The Fun & Games collection consists of 9 polishes in total, and will be released tomorrow (24th August) on the Glam Polish Bigcartel store for AU$9.50 each. Glam Polish is also available internationally from Mei Mei’s Signatures, Color4Nails, Llarowe and Rainbow Connection UK.
