I have nubs again! I was filing my nails while watching TV, and accidentally filed them too far down. Can I redeem myself slightly by saying the TV show was Game of Thrones? That’s a totally valid excuse!
These four polishes are from Arcane Lacquer’s Collection 2. This collection is a bit old now, but still worth a look at. Really, they’re not that old… Only a couple of months. But at the rate that indie brands are releasing new collections it feels like a million new polishes have come out since then. It’s hard to keep up sometimes! But let’s not forget that “older” polishes are still available, and worth owning.
No Way Tawdry is a black jelly base with multi coloured shifting glass flecks. The colours are predominantly pink, purple, blue and green. This is 3 coats with top coat.
I think Erudite Charm is my favourite. It’s a dusty blue with a soft purple shimmer, and tiny black, periwinkle, gold and copper glitter. I used 3 coats here, but it could be opaque in 2 thick coats.
Headstrong is a greyed out navy jelly with glimmers of blue glitter. The glitter coverage on the nail is sparser than it appears in the bottle. It’s simple, and a nice palette cleanser. This is 3 coats with top coat.
Little Quibble is another of my favourites from this collection. I’ve heard some people say that the original swatches by Bec (the creator of Arcane Lacquer) show it as a very vibrant grassy green, while in person it’s actually much more muted, almost pastel. I agree that it’s more muted than the swatches in her Etsy store show, but I definitely wouldn’t call it pastel. It’s still a vibrant, cheerful light green – more like an apple green. It has a golden shimmer and flecks of silver holo and fuschia. It’s a unique colour and I can’t wait to wear it during warmer weather.
